Privacy Policy

Crypto Highlander (the "Site," at cryptohighlander.com) is built to collect as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no comment sections, no sign-up forms, and no newsletter. We do not sell your data. This page explains the small amount of information that is involved when you visit, and the choices you have.
1. How to Reach Us
Questions or requests about this policy can be sent to admin@cryptohighlander.com.
2. What We Collect
Analytics, only if you accept
The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. If you accept, we load Google Analytics, which records how the Site is used: which pages are viewed, how you arrived (for example, from a search engine or another site), roughly where in the world the visit came from (country and city level, not your street), and your browser and device type. Google Analytics does not log or store your IP address. We do not enable Google's advertising features or ad personalization, and we do not combine this data with anything that identifies you. If you decline, or ignore the banner, Google Analytics is never loaded and no request is made to Google.
Hosting and security data
The Site is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the Site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical information about each request, such as your IP address, browser type, and the page requested. This is an ordinary part of how any website is delivered, and it happens whether or not you accept analytics.
Email you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and keep it only as long as needed for that purpose. Our email is provided by Proton.
Preferences stored on your device
Your light or dark theme choice and your cookie choice are saved in your own browser so the Site can remember them. They stay on your device and are not sent to us.
Fonts
The fonts used on the Site are served from the Site itself, not from Google or any other third party, so loading text does not send your information anywhere else.
3. Cookies
The only cookies the Site sets are the Google Analytics cookies below, and only after you accept.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Tells separate visitors apart so Google Analytics can count them | Up to 2 years |
_ga_T6FLHVW0J5 | Keeps track of a visit (session) on this Site | Up to 2 years |
4. Other Companies Involved
Google provides Google Analytics, and only if you accept. Its handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Cloudflare hosts and secures the Site, as described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. Proton provides our email.
Some links on the Site go to products or services run by other companies, and some of those are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you sign up or buy. When you click one, you leave this Site, and that company's own cookies, tracking, and privacy policy apply. We do not give those companies any information about you. The Disclaimer covers third-party links further.
5. Why We Use Your Information (EU and UK Visitors)
Where European or UK data protection law applies, we rely on your consent for analytics cookies, which you can withdraw at any time. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the Site running securely for the hosting and security data described above, and on our legitimate interest in answering you for email you send.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You can change your cookie choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. Declining or withdrawing also removes the analytics cookies the Site set. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's browser opt-out add-on.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how it is used, to receive a copy of it, and, in the EU and UK, to complain to your local data protection authority. In California, you have the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email us at the address above. Because analytics data is not tied to your name or email, we may not be able to locate records about a particular visitor, but we will respond and do what we can.
7. How Long We Keep Information
Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and then deleted automatically. Emails are kept only as long as needed to respond to you. Cloudflare keeps hosting and security data according to its own policy.
8. International Transfers
Google and Cloudflare are based in the United States and process data there and in other countries. They rely on safeguards for international transfers, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses, which they describe in their own policies.
9. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Site changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows the most recent revision.
